Nobody did. I do find it interesting that I'm totally fine with Daniel sacrificing his career for love! But it helps that, like Betty, I think the move to London will turn out to be a very good thing for his career. I also liked how Daniel moved to London because of Betty, not for her. There's a difference. He's not putting pressure on Betty by making her his sole objective. He was going to try to earn something for himself all on his own whether no matter where in the world he decided to settle. The fact that the place that he chose to start over was in near Betty, made them both happy!
