Great idea for a fic, Quaggy. I have a good friend who adopted two girls from China and her mom-in-law is the same way about them not being her "real" grandchildren. So hurtful and stupid. Anyway, that's unfortunately a realistic detail. The whole story is lovely. Loved your portrayal of both J and D as parents and of the sibling relationship.
