And really, when she thinks about it, she's luckier than all those girls who'd fallen for Derek over the years because she's his step-sister. They would always have that connection and she would rather have Derek in her life as family than not at all.
I love that line - I love the idea that there is a connection between them that's deeper than boyfriend/girlfriend, and that it's not just a complication they have to rise above - it's special in its own right.
And I love that you took the whole ending scene and took it in a really different direction - instead of them heading into angst-ville, they're sounding each other out :) And I really like that Casey makes that first move.
