I could see that as a 'friends-with-benefits' kind of thing, or as a 'substitution' for what one or the other really wants.
Yeah, I suppose. But honestly, I see it more of a case of them having to much history to ever see each other in a romantic light. They had known each other for years... but if they had just met, they probably would have really hit it off. Instead, their shared history just cements their friendship into something wonderfully strong and permanent.
