As someone who was adopted, and then adopted again by a step parent when I was a little older, this fic, aside from being an interesting, realistic and (refreshingly) unconventional look at Josh and Donna with kids, was also a good portrayal of the family dynamic of adoption in a medium where adoption isn't usually mentioned.
Plus, again, its great to read a Josh and Donna (with kids) story that doesn't follow the rules of JD fic convention, sometimes JD stories all run together because they're variations on the same thing. This one stands out, because its totally different from other things out there.
