quaggySo, I recently passed my six month anniversary of writing fanfic. In honor of the occation, I thought I would do something completely conceited. Below is a list of all my fics and drabbles (earliest first) and my favorite line from each. Just because.
The Bow Tie
“I can do it myself, Donna,” he replied with a touch of irritation. “It just takes me a couple of tries.”
I don't know. This just seemed very Josh to me.
Without Hope or Agenda
By the time Donna woke up, I had two and a half years to convince myself she would never feel the same way about me. Nothing other than her practically screaming ‘I love you!’ could convince me otherwise.
I still sort of think it happened like that.
Know
The entire Santos campaign crashes into my room and has no idea what they were interrupting, but Will and CJ figure it out like armchair detectives!
Because you know it's true!
Campaign Flings Or Lack There Of
She wishes they had gotten together earlier than this. Maybe the night when she tried to give him her key or when Ellie Bartlet got married. Hell, she should lunged for him across the damn table when he handed her that beer at the Democratic National Convention, Will Bailley and anyone else in the room be damned.
It was really difficult to chose just one line, but I think this one captures the spirit of the piece best. I'm still damn proud of this fic.
What Happens In Hospitals
"Babies!”
Alright, it's tough to chose one line when Josh is high on pain pills. But in the end, it came down to just one word.
Like His Fathers Before Him
The fourth time, he wooed her in the manner of his fathers.
My first drabble is still my favorite.
Uncertain Conversations
“Josh, whenever I’ve needed you, you’ve never let me down. The diary. Germany. You dropped everything. Risked everything. For your assistant. Why would I ever think you wouldn’t do the same for your wife?”
Yeah, I'm a sap.
A Very Certain Conversation
“Gee, I haven’t been able to make your face do that in years!”
Heh.
This Is Not A Test
“How can I raise a child?” she had wailed. “I’m slow! It took me almost three years to realize I had fallen in love with Josh five minutes after meeting him. And then it took me another six to do anything about it!!! I can’t have a kid! By the time, I get the diaper thing down, she’ll be ready for college!”
Yeah, a non-J/D fic, but of course I go for the line that is all about them.
Domestic Affairs
“You are enjoying all this domesticity aren’t you?”
“I truly, truly am.”
Sap. Total sap.
In Control
He should’ve known. How many Republicans does Josh consider friends?
I mean, it's Josh we're talking about here!
Post-Administration Novelties
Pumping gas, however, is an outrage— but that’s due to the price tag rather than the task itself.
Jed does like a good outrage.
End of the Road
He’s going to set the world on fire. I’m just standing in the way.
Poor Kate.
Weddings
Some concentrate on the wedding. Others are more interested in the marriage that follows.
It sums up the drabble perfectly.
Regrets
They have everything you were never sure you wanted, but your eyes are painted green anyway.
A little too poetic, but I like the line anyway.
Band of Brothers… and a Sister
“Sure… So, I caught Donna briefing the press, last week. Impressive.”
“Claudia Jean, I beg you to not make me have this conversation.”
Again, the sole J/D line in a totally non-J/D fic. Yup, I'm a shipper. Moving on.

Untold Plans
“You, son of a bitch!” Sam yelled, startling Josh from his perusal of budget reports. “You got married!”
I don't think I'll ever be able to write a better first line!

For her, there was never a time that she wasn’t your daughter.
If you do not understand that line, you don't understand the fic.

His compulsive need to fix everything is learned behavior.
My take on Josh's mom in nine words.
A Family Thing
Politics is in the blood of the next generation of Lymans too, it seems.
And on it goes.
Cures for Insomnia Part 1
"It always pays to meet with the Republican leadership knowing something they don't!"
I'm mostly sure this is my line and not Caz's. For the most part.
Cures for Insomnia Part 2
“Keep this up, Josh, and I'm going to be the one with the brain thing! Okay… Let’s just assume that you’re not troubled by some sort of mental impairment. Though the jury’s still out on that one. What's the problem?”
I know this one is mine. :-) I love Leo. I really should write about him more.
Stay
Words couldn’t make it past the lump in her throat, but her red hair swung from the force of her nodding.
God, this sentance gave me greif, but I really like the end result.
Could Have Been
You think you saw the exact moment he fell in love with someone else.
Actually, the entire last paragraph is my favorite. :-) But this one works too.
Needed Rules
"Forgive me if I don’t believe you.”
I should write more Toby too. Even if he's ridiculously difficult to get right.
Oral Fixation
You categorically refused all drugs.
Well, he would.
Weird
Nobody said anything as a general rule, but nobody talks about brushing their teeth either. (Well, unless they’re Sam.)
Poor Sam.
Shoe Shopping
“Well, since you aren’t getting the Manolo Whatzits, I think you should take what you can get.”
I don't know why this makes me snicker, but it does!
Flowers Again
I wore a long white dress and Bram got drunk and hit on you.
The thow-away line that started it all. Who knew?
All In the Timing
“I was drunk. Not trashed.”
Because it makes a difference. :-P
Making Bath Time
“Those must have come from washing the dishes,” he muses as he ruffles his hair, oblivious to the fact that he’s getting even more bubbles worked in as he does.
Completely random... which is why I love it.

You should definately try it out with your fics when you get the chance. I'd be really interested to see which are your favorites.

Thank you so much! That's the highest compliment anyone can pay me!!! I guess it's because I may have only been writing fanfic for six months... well, seven months now... I've been studying Josh and Donna for much much longer.
