I've seen this meme around plenty of places, most recently at unoriginal_liz and finally decided to give it a shot. It makes a nice change of pace from everything I've been working with over at keytus_tv.

Okay, I haven't seen as many episodes as I probably should (and between you and unoriginal_liz I'm going to need a LWD icon sooner rather than later), but...

LWD

1. One True Pairing Ship:

Casey/Derek. I think it might be why the fandom even exists!


2. Canon Ship:

Okay, are we absolutely sure that Casey/Derek ISN'T canon? Because I saw "March Break" and those two couldn't even stick to the high-speed "We have to put everything back in order before the family gets back" thing without one of them tackling the other. No? Alright, then I guess Nora/George.


3. "If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship:

Emily/Derek. It's the same problem for me as Ginny/Harry from Harry Potter. I hate relationships based on hero-worship because (1) it doesn't work like that in real life and (2) stalker, much? And when it actually happened, it was like one giant step back for Emily.


4. "You are one sick bastard" Ship:

Derek/Lizzie or Casey/Edwin. And I once saw a Casey/Paul fic *shudders*


5. "I dabble a little" Ship:

Maybe Emily/Ralph. She had a line in Tuesday Night Fever that made me think they would be cute.


6. "It's like a car crash" Ship:

Casey/Truman... or really Truman with just about anybody. The guy is just bad news.


7. "Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship:

I haven't seen enough Sheldon episodes to truly be on the Emily/Sheldon ship, but I'll take eveyone's word that it's cute.


8. "Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship:

You know THIS is the category that Casey/Derek should have fallen under if TPTB were doing there jobs. ;-) Since that's not the case, I'm going to go with the whole "Sam is gay" thing, which works in fic more often than it doesn't.


9. "Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship:

Lizzie/Edwin. When one set of step-siblings fall in love, it's weird, but that's life. When two sets fall in love, then you start checking the water supply and place a call to Jerry Springer. Plus, Lizzie/Edwin don't have the same circumstances that Casey/Derek do. They met far younger and their relationship DOES seem more sibling-like. It's hard for me to imagine that they've been nursing a secret attraction all this time.

Oh I've seen a couple Casey/Paul stories too and they always give me the creeps. He was such a father figure to her -- and breaking that patient/therapist boundary is just horrible!

But creepiest of all is George/Casey (vomits in mouth) -- Seatergirl has ruined both George and John Ralston for me! (nothing against her -- she's a good writer)
Oh there is that hinted at Sam/Nora story too. I felt oddly drawn to that one -- by that same part of me that secretly wants to see the eviscerated corpse at the scene of an accident.

I think Emily/Ralph is sooooo much cuter than Emily/Sheldon. I totally do not see the appeal of Sheldon. Seriously? He isn't cute. He's obnoxious. He dresses terrible. And, that song he wrote was just pathetic. Not appealing at all! I just don't get it!!???!!

And Lizzie/Edwin ...I know! I think they are a weird match too! You can't have all the siblings couple up!

Oh, ewwewwewwewwewwewwewwewwewwwewwwewwewwewwewwewwweww! EW!! That's in the "Please Pass The Brain Bleach" category. Don't know how I missed those fic, but I'm very glad I did!

He's obnoxious. He dresses terrible. And, that song he wrote was just pathetic. Not appealing at all! I just don't get it!!???!!

Well, for somebody who's as popularity obsessed as Emily, Sheldon might be exactly who she needs. To bad whatever lesson she learned from dating him, she promptly forgot when the moment she had a chance with Derek. Ick.

You can't have all the siblings couple up!

I really don't know why more fic writers don't realize this. It seem like most hook Lizzie & Edwin up as soon as they're done with Casey & Derek. Sometimes they even change their personalities so that the two are more Casey&Derek-like.

Now, granted, the show lead to the set up in the finale that Edwin was stepping into Derek's and Lizzie into Casey's... but even that's more of a "See, this is how the senario would have played out if Derek & Casey DID think of each other as siblings" scenario than a case of history repeating itself. :-P
